Seremban, Malaysia (2D1N)

My hubby and i were invited to attend his best friend's wedding in Seremban, Malaysia.
Since the wedding was on Saturday night and there is no direct flight from Singapore to Seremban, we decided to stay 1 night at Seremban so as not to tire ourselves on the journey.

We decided to book the following:-
1) Transport - Bus (Golden Coach Express)
We decided to book a return tickets for bus from Golden Coach Express from EasyBook (http://www.easybook.com/en-sg). Reasons were because we prefer to go early in the morning so we have more time to explore the town a bit and and the departure venue was located at Singapore Concorde Shopping Centre which is near our home.

Review on the bus:-
(a) The bus was clean and spacious: and
(b) The journey was longer than expected, more than 5 hours journey.

2) Hotel - Palm Seremban Hotel

We booked Palm Seremban Hotel because of the following reasons:-
(a) It was a newly built hotel; and
(b) It is located within the new mall in Seremban so it is easier for us to settle our meals and to do some shopping (ie snacks from Giant and etc).

Review on the hotel:-
(a) The room was clean and big: and
(b) It was convenient for us to commute as it was easy to grab a taxi in front of the hotel.

3) Food

Before departing, my hubby and i did some research on the local food to try there and we tried the following:-

(a) Beef Noodle @ Pasar Besar Seremban
Pasar Besar Seremban is similar to our Tiong Bahru Market where first floor is meant for wet market and second floor is meant for hawker food.
I have read some of the recommended food located at Pasar Besar Seremban but all of them were closed when we reached there. Hence we both only tried from the Beef Noodle stall with a different version (my hubby chose dry version while i chose the soup version).

Review: We both personally found the food is average.
The broth itself is not quite light and not as strong as compared to our favourite Beef Noodle in Singapore.

(b) Empayar Seremban Siew Pow (芙蓉烧包城)

Seremban style siew pau is a crispy buttery pastry bun filled with juicy savoury and sweet roast pork. There are so many Siew Pow sold in Seremban, but we decided to try this shop as it is also sell local product gift shop. Hence it is easier for us to buy our souvenirs back to Singapore.

Address: LG1-57, Tingkat Bawah Tanah, Pasar Besar Negeri Sembilan, Taman Bukit Kepayang, Seremban, 70200 Negeri Sembilan

Review: We both love the Siew Pow, its freshly made and its crispy outside and juicy inside.
We bought it on the day we were departing to Singapore as it cannot be kept for very long and we wanted to bring some for our friends back in Singapore.
However, the location is not convenience for those who are not driving like us.
We went there via taxi but we had to walk a long street before we reached main road and grab a taxi to return to our hotel.

(c) Chicken rice - Opposite our hotel (randomly picked)

We tried not to eat from the mall as we wanted to try the local food wherever we go. Hence we decided to try the chicken rice located at the opposite of our hotel.

Review: We both did not like the taste, the rice is not fragrant enough and the chicken is not tender and tasty enough.

(d) Waffle - Waffuru (Palm Shopping Mall - next to our hotel)
Before the wedding on saturday night, we walked around the shopping mall next to our hotel with a plan to do some shopping but ended with nothing, and just tried the waffle from this shop called Waffuru.

Review: The waffle was not bad and the ice cream is okay too. Nice place to rest and chit chat over waffle.

It was a good experience to travel to Seremban as we have never went there before. However there was not much things to do there, hence 1 night is more than enough i guess for a tourist like us.

Thank you for reading and i hope it can help you in your travel planning.
