1) Venue – Sands (Mangga Dua Square)
The venue was sourced by my parents in-law as the food tastes good, the decoration of the place is nice and it comes with reasonable price.
Verdict: I did not eat much on that day, maybe because I was too nervous. Feedback that I gathered, everyone was happy with the food and no complaint heard.
2) Wedding Gown – Yumi Katsura
My choice was Yumi Katsura because I fell in love at the first sight on the new gowns from this shop. Choosing a wedding gown is like choosing a house, it is either you hate it or you love it. There will be a feeling and some sense to tell you that “IT IS THE ONE”.
Hence I decided to rent a new gown from this shop.
Verdict: I was happy with my gown and feedbacks from my friends were the gown looked classy and gorgeous. Yeah yeah…happy…
I used 2 different boleros for morning (tea ceremony) and evening (wedding banquet) and my friend thought I wore 2 different wedding gown hahaha….
OOOOO another thing, they gave us a gift in a form of Standee Wedding Photo…I love it love it.
3) Groom’s and fathers’ suits - Harry’s Palmer
This place was sourced by my mother in-law and it is strategically located in one of the mall in Jakarta. They have a lot of materials, design and colours to choose from.
My hubby tailor-made the wedding suit from this shop.
It is common in Indonesia for the fathers of the married couple to wear the same colour, hence my 2 fathers (father and father in-law) also tailor-made their suits with the same material and colour from this shop.
Verdict: I had high expectation from this shop as it is quite reputable but the result is lower than my expectation. There is nothing wrong with the design and colours but I expect that the measurement would have been more precise. After all the measurements and first alteration, the suits were still not fit nicely to the body eventhough there is no one lost weight at that time.
4) Mothers’ Gown – Maya Ratih
Not only the fathers would wear the same colours, the mothers of the married couple would also be wearing the same colours. This shop was introduced by the owner from Harry’s Palmer. My 2 mothers chose red colour for their gowns and therefore my fathers also wore red tie to match the gown of the wives.
The designer looked at the bodies and designed gowns to match their bodies.
Verdict: I love both gowns, the 2 mothers looked stunning on that day. My relatives and friends asked us for contact of the designer as they like the gowns that my mothers wore on my wedding day. I think the guests’ attention were not only to me and hubby but to the 2 mothers on the wedding day.
I tried few new gowns in this shop too before I deal with Yumi Katsura, but I did not like any of them. Hence I went to see their make-up portfolios and decided to use them for Pre-wedding make up and Actual day make up for Bridal, 2 mothers and maid of honor.
Verdict:I did not like the hairdo style suggested by my MUA for my indoor prewed, it made me look older. True enough, people said I looked older in my indoor prewed photo. So I insisted another hairstyle on my actual day.
Luckily I insisted and it helped a loooot…
6) Photo & Video – Maximus
This vendor is being introduced by May May Bridal and when we looked at the samples of the pictures taken, I decided to use this for Pre-wedding shoot and Actual day shoot and video.
Verdict: I like the fact that I have all the raw copies of my pre-wedding shoots.The people were friendly, came on time for the shoot and fun. For video, I am neutral with the result as it is like a normal wedding video, with no kick in it.
7) Florist – Art Flower
One of my criteria to choose a vendor is swift response. Yeaaaaah, I like to settle things fast.
I ordered my wedding hand bouquet, groom and family corsages from Art Flower. After wedding gown, and make up, I believe people look at the flower. Hence it is important to order from reliable vendor to ensure the quality and appearance of the flowers. Also not forgetting to ensure that the flowers are delivered on time.
Verdict: I was satisfied with the prompt response from Art Flower and I love my flowers, they were fresh and looked very attractive.
8) Wedding Car – Fendi Wedding Car
Time is essential for Wedding because there is auspicious time which we need to follow, hence we need a vendor which could give us assurance on time. When your surrounding is nice and relaxing, you will feel happy, hence it is important to have a clean with nice smell car.
Verdict: I was satisfied with the prompt response from Fendi Wedding Car. The driver came on time, the car was clean, shiny and smell fresh too.
9) Invitation Card – Hubby’s auntieWho does not love free stuff hahahaa…..My hubby’s auntie is in printing business and she was very nice to offer to print our wedding invitation cards for FREE… Yeay…
Verdict: Love the result and of course love it because it is FOC.
10) Door Gift – Mangga Dua
My parents in-law were very helpful in my wedding. They helped to source a lot of things including door gift. Wanted to give something useful to the guests, hence we decided to give a pen for door gift.
Verdict: I like the appearance of the pen and it is useful.
11) Wedding Organizer – Mark & Co
Mark was one of the MC which we could select from my Wedding Venue. He owned his own Wedding Organiser Company (most of the MC will have their own Wedding Organiser Company because it is important for the MC to work well with Wedding Organiser).
Wedding Organiser is different with Event Organiser. Event Organiser will help to provide a list of wedding vendors for our selection and will help from beginning of planning to ending. While Wedding Organiser only organise for 1 day aka Wedding Day.
I wanted to select the vendors and organise my own Wedding because it is once in a lifetime and I wanted to have memories for all the processes. Hence I engaged Wedding Organiser instead of Event Organiser.
Before actual day, Wedding Organiser met hubby and i to discuss about our wedding custom (i.e. gate crash if any, auspicious time to follow), number of elders whom we will offer the wedding tea, selection of songs, contacts of our wedding vendors and etc. Thereafter, he sent us the draft itinerary on the BIG DAY and went thru with us to make sure all are in order.
Why I engage Wedding Organiser? Because we do not normally ask relatives and friends for help in wedding, except of course to receive angbaos.
Mark & Co provides 12 people for my actual day (From morning: 2 people in-charge of Groom and 2 people in-charge of bride Evening: another 8 people to handle the wedding dinner). Wedding Organiser scopes include:-
a) Give morning calls to groom and bride
b) Coordinate with all the wedding vendors (ie. Hand bouquet, wedding car, MUA, photographer and videographer) to ensure that all came on time.
c) Being MC for the tea ceremony
d) Time checker for bride and groom (i.e. inform us when it was time to leave the house, time for wedding entrance and etc).
e) Liaising with audio person in wedding venue to ensure my wedding clips and songs run correctly.
f) Monitoring the supply of food in the Wedding dinner (my wedding was Buffet style) and etc.
Verdict: They are indeed professionals, I could concentrate on my wedding entrance and enjoy my wedding…Thanks to them
