As people say, it is our comfort zone to be surrounded by people who speak the same language as us. Being Indonesians with limited English (Bahasa Indonesia is our main language in Indonesia) staying in Singapore, we prefer to go out with fellow Indonesians.
In August 2009, I went out for a movie with my Indonesian friends and as usual my friends invited their friends too. I still remember it was at the Filmgrade at Bugis Plus (f.k.a Iluma) that I was being introduced to my ex-boyfriend aka my hubby (Freddy). Why do I remember? Because my friend told me to stay away from him as he was attached. Being a second-child (middle child syndrome), I grown up to always listen to people, so yeah I stayed away from him.
Subsequent to that, nothing has changed in my life. I was still single and always hung out with my friends.
In December 2009, I went to my friend’s house for Christmas party and Freddy was there too. We did exchange some words and I remembered it was the second time we met. However he said it was our forth meeting, well I did not and do not remember at all hahaha…Ooops sorry hubby. Btw, his memory is always better than mine.
Few days after that day, he added me in MSN (I had no idea how he got it, I asked him before but I always forget hahaha). We chatted occasionally and btw, his status was single then. Being a February baby boy, he is indeed very romantic and I guess it helped in getting my attention. Fast forward in May 2010, he asked me to be his GF and we were attached since then.
